Case Study 2

Victorian Regional Coastal Plans

In a first for Victoria, I led the development of Regional Coastal Plans, spearheading the development and final approval of the three plans: Western, Central, and Gippsland. My approach hinged on fostering relationships, navigating statutory governance and processes to achieve remarkable results.

Through my aptitude for forging connections, we secured the endorsement of coastal local leaders within the three Regional Coastal boards and its governing body, the Victorian Coastal Council – all within 15 months. This achievement underscored the power of collaboration, regional leadership, and efficient decision-making.

Guiding my team’s efforts, I designed a process to engage stakeholders and communities.

Notably, feedback from the Great Ocean Road Coastal Committee affirmed that our plans, enriched with new insights, instilled local coastal managers with the confidence that their operational endeavours were indeed contributing to overarching regional goals.
